Halloween Scary Sandwiches

Okay, maybe they are not that scary, but, believe me, they are sooooo yummy!

Here are my Halloween scary sandwiches. Easy to make, you can even ask your kids to help!

Halloween Scary Sandwiches

Ingredients

  • Bread dough
  • 100 g lukewarm water
  • 5 g dehydrated yeast or 10 g fresh yeast
  • 200 g milk
  • 20 g sugar
  • 75 g soft butter
  • 10 g salt
  • 230 g all purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp cream
  • 1 tsp milk
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • Garnish
  • 8 tbsp Pesto rosso
  • 8 slices of ham
  • 8 slices of cheese
  • 32 slices of cucumber
  • 32 small blueberries

Instructions

Bread dough

Pour the water and the yeast in your food processor bowl. Mix until the yeast is fully dissolute.

Add the lukewarm milk and sugar. Mix.

Add the flour, the butter cut in cubes and salt.

Knead at least 5 minutes until your dough won't stick to the bowl anymore.

Cover with a clean sheet and place the bowl in a warm environment for almost 2 hours. Your dough should grow significantly.

Degas the dough and split it in 60 grams pieces. Shape each one into a rectangle. Place them on a baking mat.

Set aside for 30 minutes.

Preheat your oven at 220 degrees.

Spread the milk, cream and pinch of salt combined.

Cook for 15 minutes.

Remove from the oven and place on a grid to cool down.

Garnish

Cut your cheese slice to the size of the buns, then cut small triangles to shape the teeth.

Cut the cucumber slice with round cutters to make a circle. Place a blueberry inside the circle and place on a small wooden pick.

Cut the buns in half.

Spread pesto rosso on the lower part of each of them.

Place ½ slice of ham on top, add the cheese slice and some of the remaining cucumber parts.

Place the upper part of the buns on top, add the "eyes".
