Hello my friends,
I hope you enjoyed the Christmas holidays and that you’re ready now to celebrate the Epiphany!
For the occasion, I made a King’s cake with Nutella.
Let’s see the recipe, Chef!
King's Cake with Nutella
Ingredients
- Dough
- 120 g warm milk
- 5 g instant dry yeast
- 1 large egg
- 40 g butter melted
- 280 g all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 35 g sugar
- Garnish
- 90 g Nutella
- 70 g pralin
- 40 g chocolate chips
Instructions
Dough
Pour the milk in your food processor bowl, add the yeast. Combine.
Add the egg, the melted butter, sugar and salt. Combine.
Add the flour and knead with the hook. Start at low speed (2 on a scale from 1 to 6) then increase to 4.
Once you have an homogeneous dough, knead some more 3-4 minutes. You'll have a sticky dough, don't add flour at this point.
Cover with a clean and humid linen and let rise 1 hour.
Finish
Now that your dough has risen, spread it on a floured working plan (spread flour on the dough too) until you get a 60 cm x 40 cm rectangle.
Spread the Nutella on top of the dough, add the pralin, chocolate chips and roll it.
Cut 12 slices and place them in on a baking tray covered with parchment paper.
Let rise again for 20 minutes.
Preheat your oven at 190 degrees.
Bake for 25 minutes. Check with a knife and bake some more if necessary.
