Sometimes, you’re allowed to be a little bit lazy, sometimes the result can even taste pretty good, sometimes you have little time but you still want to bake something nice. That’s why!
That’s why today I will strongly suggest a recipe with a puff pastry bought at the supermarket (no homebaking on this one??? Shocking!!) and apples for a lovely and tasty outcome: my apple turnover!
And since most of the recipe is about folding and cutting, I won’t use my usual recipe module. I’ll just show the step by step in pics!
You will need the following ingredients:
– 1 round puff pastry (280 g)
– 3 apples
– 60 g chocolate chips or golden raisins if you prefer
– 20 g butter
– 1 egg yolk
Let’s do this!
Preheat your oven at 200 degrees.
Then peel and cut your apples in slices (I use a mandoline to have regular slices).
Unroll your pastry, place the apple slices as shown on the pic below. Spread chocolate chips and pieces of butter.
Leave at least 5 cm of pastry over and below the apples. With a knife, cut 1,5 cm large strips.
Fold the upper part of the pastry, and then fold the strips one after the other alternately (one from the left, one from the right and so on).
When you have 2 strips left on each side, fold the lower pastry part and finish with the 4 remaining strips.
Brush with the egg yolk.
Bake 25 minutes in the oven.
Enjoy!!
