Malaysian Beef Noodles

Ingredients

  • Marinade
  • 500 g minced beef
  • 2 tbsp salted soy sauce soja
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1/2 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/2 tsp ground pepper
  • Meat cooking
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 fennel bulb
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 250 g water
  • 2 tbsp salted soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1/2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 handful fresh coriander
  • Noodles
  • 250 g Chinese noodles
  • 2 tbsp salted soy sauce soja
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 50 g cashew nuts

Instructions

Marinade

Pour salted soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, cornstarch and ground pepper in a bowl. Combine.

Add the minced beef and combine with hands. Leave to rest for 20 to 30 minutes.

Meat cooking

Stir fry the grated garlic and the minced fennel with the sesame oil in your sauté pan.

After 2-3 minutes, add the marinated beef.

Cook at medium heat, mix from time to time.

When the meat is almost cooked, add the water, oyster sauce, salted soy sauce and sugar.

Heat to a boil and continue at low heat.

Combine the cornstarch and 2 tbsp water, add to the pan. Keep on cooking at low heat for 3-4 minutes.

Add the chopped coriander.

Noodles

Boil a large volume of unsalted water.

Add the noodles in your boiling water and cook according to the instructions on the package.

Drain and place under cold water for a few seconds.

Heat the oyster sauce and salted soy sauce in your sauce pan, add the noodles. Combine.

Serve the noodles with the meat and a few cashew nuts.
